46th Annual Opening Ceremonies - April 1 at 9:00

Attention West Springfield Little League families!  Our annual opening day ceremony will be held Saturday April 1 at 9:00 a.m. at Byron Avenue Park on Wrigley Field.

The ceremony will feature opening remarks from our league president, Ron Zabko, remarks from local dignitaries, a ceremonial "first pitch" and our traditional parade of teams and banners.  Your son or daughter should dress in their full uniform and join their teammates in the parade!  Come help us kickoff the celebration of the 46th season of West Springfield Little League baseball!

If your son or daughter is planning to participate in the Parade of Teams, please plan to arrive at the park between 8:15 and 8:30. so that we can get everyone lined up and organized.

Glory Days Grill Offers Special Promotions to WSLL

When you dine at any of the Glory Days Northern Virginia locations from March 1 to October 31 they will contribute 10% of your food bill to WSLL. Simply ask your server for a copy of your guest check (not credit card receipt) and drop it in the box marked "Glory Days Grill" at the Concessions Stand at Byron Ave Park. 


All Managers, Coaches Umpires, and Volunteers MUST Complete LL Volunteer Form

West Springfield Little League will continue to implement a mandate from Little League Baseball, Inc. that requires all local Little Leagues to conduct background checks on Managers, Coaches, Umpires, Board of Directors members and any other persons, volunteers or hired workers, who provide regular service to the league and/or have repetitive access to, or contact with, players or teams.

Byron Gets a New Face Lift

WSLL, along with grant money from Fairfax County,is currently undertaking a number of capital improvements at Byron and Fenway facillitis. These improvements include new scoreboards on Wrigley and Yankee, the leveling and resodding of grass infields (see the pictures above), and a new backstop and dugouts at Yankee.

Little League Changing Age Determination Date - Update

Little League ages are changing again.  For the 2018 season, players born on or after September 1, 2005 will use August 31st as their league-age determination date.  This means that certain players will be the same league-age in 2016 as they were in 2015.  Update: Players born between May 1, 2005 and August 31, 2005 will be grandfathered as 12 year olds for the 2018 season.  For more information, please see the following release from Little League International.
