Dear Member of the West Springfield Business Community:

Over 800 children between the ages of 5-12 play baseball in West Springfield Little League (WSLL), a non-profit organization staffed and administrated by volunteers. Our objective is to provide a healthy, safe, and fun environment for boys and girls to learn and enjoy the game of baseball. We are proud of the quality of instruction and leadership given to the children and the demonstrated success of our all-star teams.

The league is currently organizing for the upcoming 2010 season and is soliciting the business community for sponsors. Your financial support is a critical element to the successful operation of our league. The cost of equipment to support a quality Little League program is significant. For example, registration fees alone do not cover the costs of new uniforms, equipment, and field maintenance.

This year, we anticipate the organization of approximately 80 teams for six levels of play and need a sponsor for each team. We are asking you to support WSLL by sponsoring one or more of our Little League teams this Spring. Also this year, we are once again offering you the opportunity to sponsor BOTH a Spring and Fall team at ONE DISCOUNTED rate.

When you sponsor a team, please know that your sponsorship makes an outstanding baseball program possible for the children of the West Springfield community. In addition, your business will gain visibility with, and support from, the over 800 families of West Springfield Little League.

As a sponsor, your business name will appear in a variety of settings connected to West Springfield Little League, such as:, on the team banner, on a special banner prominently displayed at the field, in the 2010 WSLL Yearbook and on the WSLL website.  If your payment is received by February 15, your business will be displayed on the back of the team jersey.  At the end of the season, you will receive a plaque of appreciation with a team picture for display in your business and a WSLL yearbook. We are also exploring additional ways for families of the league to be aware of your business.

There are a variety of sponsorship and supporter options available in a range of costs. Please see the attached sponsor information sheet to select the sponsorship option that best suits your needs. It is important that we have all sponsor commitments by February 15th 2010.  Remember that your contribution is tax deductible.

This past July, West Springfield Little League acquired the use of Byron Avenue Park on a year-round basis.  Having year-round use will enable the league to make major enhancements to the facility, but this cannot be done without extra funding.  If you are able, we would appreciate any extra donation you can make.  If you make an additional contribution of $25, $50, $100 or any other amount you will become a “Friend of Byron Fields” and receive special recognition in the yearbook and other means.  There is a special section on the sponsor information form for this.
